Parisian authorities do not encourage placing love locks on the bridge anymore, but you can still go discover its amazing architecture and admire the view over the Seine. It is still considered one of the most romantic places in Paris, and people often take here photo sessions or snap a shot while kissing.

ROMANTIC SUNSET VIEW FROM THE EIFFEL TOWER

This is definitely one of the most romantic Paris ideas and an unforgettable experience for you, as a couple. The view is amazing and the ascension to the top must be one of your top items on your checklist.

To make sure you have the experience of your dreams, you must do some planning in advance, as the Eiffel Tower can be very crowded during peak season. First, you will need to check the weather, as the ascension is not permitted to the top if there are winds.

You’ll want to catch the golden hour so make sure you arrive at least 30-40 minutes before the sunset occurs. Also, another thing you need to take into consideration when planning a memorable romantic date to watch the sunset is to check when the sun sets. Depending on the season you’re visiting Paris, this may vary throughout the year.

Check weather apps on your phone or laptop that provide accurate sunset data. By checking it in advance, you can plan your romantic date accordingly, ensuring that you arrive at the chosen spot with enough time to enjoy the beautiful colors.

Additionally, book one of our photographers for an amazing couple photo session and enjoy a wonderful experience, creating memories that you can cherish and proudly share with your grandchildren.

Moreover, there are so many other locations around the tower that you should check. Find here the best Eiffel Tower photo spots!

CHAMPAGNE CRUISE ON THE CANAL SAINT-MARTIN

A small boat will cruise gently on the Seine, allowing you to discover Notre Dame and other fascinating points of interest from a boat while sipping champagne. If you want privacy, then you can book a private boat that lets you enjoy each other’s company and admire Crimee’s elevated bridge, Hotel du Nord, and other pedestrian coquette bridges. Also, you will float through a long tunnel that has dim light and have a wonderful, unique experience in the heart of Paris.

Even if you probably rely on your partner holding you in their arms if it gets chilly, we still recommend you grab a coat or jacket that you can put on during your water cruise.

A FEW MORE ROMANTIC THINGS TO DO IN PARIS

If you are wondering what romantic things to do in Paris, when you are traveling to Paris for the first time

… then you are in the right place. We will list a few cool & interesting things to do in Paris for couples and some restaurant recommendations where locals go.

TIPS FOR TRAVELING TO PARIS FOR THE FIRST TIME

There are a few things that you should know when visiting Paris for the first time:

  • The official language is French, but more and more people speak English fluently.
  • The official currency is the Euro. To convert to your local currency, use XE.
  • Avoid the 18, 19 and 20th arrondissements. To be close to the Eiffel Tower, search accommodation in the 16th. Find a hotel through Booking
  • Getting around. The public transportation is well organized. Download the RATP app to move around the city easily. From the airport, a typical UBER ride costs Euro 45 and taxi should be similar (make sure to confirm with the driver first). For a private driver with a small car or a van, we warmly recommend Cyril and his company MUEVETE.
  • Useful Tips. Tap water is free, as well as the bread at restaurants. You can get an all in one Paris pass or a Paris Pass to enter different Paris attractions and places to visit in the city. You are not obliged to tip in Paris, but most people do it. We recommend 5-10%.

Must Eat Food In Paris

We are convinced that love goes through the stomach so eating is surely part of the romantic things to do in Paris.

If you have decided to not eat your breakfast in the hotel, it’s probably a great idea. You can run to the bakery on the corner and buy fresh baguettes and croissants or you can go out and start your first day in Paris with a proper Parisian breakfast.

BREAKFAST

Chocolate croissants and cappuccino at Carette

CARETTE PARIS

Café Carette was created in 1927 and we recommend the almond croissants, the hot chocolate and the macarons. The macarons are probably the creamiest – “moelleux” in French – in Paris.

There are 3 addresses in Paris: Place de Trocadéro, Place de Vosges and Place du Tertre.

LUNCH & DINNER

LE RELAIS GASCON

Le Relais Gascon is probably best known for their giant salads. These come with potato chips having garlic flavor and are simply delicious. We recommend going here for a lunch, after visiting the Montmartre and Sacre-Coeur area. The restaurant is around the corner from the Square Rictus where you find the famous “I Love You Wall“.

TRIBECA

Second on our list is Tribeca. Our favorite place for their “Camembert roti aux truffes”. It’s melted cheese with truffle sauce and salad. You can eat it with fresh traditional baguette and a proper red wine.

Tribeca Paris is very close to our favorite ice cream shop Amorino. If you go there, try the chocolate flavor called Inimitable.

CAFÉ LOUIS-PHILIPPE

If you have time to try Café Louis-Philippe, we recommend the oysters and the cherry sauce duck filet. They also have the very French escargotswith pesto filling. A delight !

The restaurant is very close to the Ile Saint Louis and Le Marais area. So you can explore those places easily.

Debunking Wine Myths – Explaining Why French Love Wine

In the enchanting backdrop of Paris, where each cobbled lane and riverside promenade tells a story, wine plays a pivotal role in the narrative of love and leisure.

Here, in the world’s most romantic city, the myths surrounding wine blend with the culture, adding layers of intrigue and sophistication to the simple act of sharing a bottle.

But to truly appreciate French wines and beyond, one must navigate through the fog of common misconceptions and unfounded beliefs, leading to a clearer and more profound understanding of this beloved beverage.

The Essence Of Wine: Beyond Myths

The journey into the world of wine is as much about unlearning as it is about learning. It’s about shedding the layers of myths that have long shrouded our understanding and embracing a more nuanced, authentic view of wine.

From the misconception that price dictates quality to the age-old debate about the right way to serve wine, each myth unraveled brings us closer to the heart of what wine truly represents.

In Paris, where every sip is savored against the backdrop of historic splendor, these revelations take on a special significance.

As you sit by the Seine, gazing at the twinkling lights of the city, or nestled in a secluded corner of a lush garden, the wine in your glass is not just a drink, but a story – a blend of history, culture, and craftsmanship.

To appreciate wine in its fullest form is to understand its versatility, its capacity to surprise and delight in unexpected ways.

The best wine experience is sharing the moment with friends or a loved one

It’s recognizing that sometimes, the best wine experiences come from the most unexpected sources – a humble bottle enjoyed in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, a simple yet sublime pairing with a Parisian picnic.

As you embark on this journey of discovery, let Paris be your guide. Let the city’s timeless charm and enduring love affair with wine lead you through the vineyards of knowledge, where every myth dispelled adds a new dimension to your experience.

And in this journey, find not just the truths about wine, but a deeper connection to the city of love itself.

The Surprising Longevity Of White Wines

Contrary to the common belief that only red wines can age well, white wines are equally capable of maturing beautifully over time.

Wines like German Rieslings and dry whites from various regions, including the Loire Valley and Sauternes, can develop complex flavors with age.

As they mature, white wines often gain a richer body and exhibit deep, nuanced flavors such as nuttiness and toastiness, offering a unique tasting experience that challenges the conventional wisdom about wine aging.

Sweet wines go perfectly with desert

Sweet Wines: A Connoisseur’s Delight

The notion that sweet wines are only for beginners or lack sophistication is another myth that needs debunking.

In reality, some of the world’s most complex and celebrated wines are sweet. Varieties like Sauternes, Eiswein (ice wine), and Trockenbeerenausleses are known for their intricate flavors and are highly regarded by experienced wine enthusiasts.

These wines showcase a diversity of flavors and aromas, demanding a discerning palate to fully appreciate their complexity.

The Essence of Girls’ Friendship -Why a Girls Trip to Paris

The Tapestry of Shared Experiences

Friendships among women are akin to a beautifully woven tapestry, rich in colors of shared experiences, emotional support, and countless moments of joy and solidarity. This unique bond is an amalgamation of laughter, tears, and stories that form the fabric of deep, enduring relationships. You might wonder, how is this bond strengthen by a girls trip to Paris?

Girls spending time together in sunflower fields

Girls’ trips serve as an extension of this bond, offering a chance to step away from the hustle and bustle of daily responsibilities. These getaways create a space where friends can immerse themselves in an environment of mutual understanding and unbridled fun.

Unapologetically Yourselves

A significant aspect of these friendships is the comfort of being with people who truly know and understand you. With them, you can be unapologetically yourself. There’s no need for pretenses or masks.

Whether it’s sharing an inside joke, reminiscing about past adventures, or supporting each other through challenges, these moments shared on a girls trip to Paris for example, strengthen the connection and create an unbreakable bond.

Benefits of Trips Together

A Journey of Discovery

Traveling with friends, to Paris or any other girls friendly destinations, transcends the traditional concept of vacationing. It transforms into a journey of discovery – not just of new destinations but also of understanding each other on a deeper level.

Exploring new places together leads to shared adventures and experiences that enrich the friendship and create memories that last a lifetime. Hence, a girls trip to Paris starts to make sense.

Personal Growth and Lasting Memories

These trips are a hiatus from routine, presenting opportunities for personal growth and self-discovery. Being in a different environment encourages friends to step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and see the world from different perspectives.

It’s during these journeys that some of the most cherished memories are made, memories that become treasured stories to be told and retold.

The Friendship Quiz Interlude

Before setting off on this adventure, consider engaging in a fun and bonding activity like taking a friendship quiz, such as the friendship test available on Psycat Games. This playful activity is not only enjoyable but also provides insights into each other’s personalities, preferences, and perspectives.

Deepening Bonds Through Shared Activities

Taking a quiz like this can be a delightful way to learn more about each other’s quirks and idiosyncrasies. It’s an opportunity to laugh, challenge perceptions, and perhaps discover new facets of your friendships. This not only sets a light-hearted tone for the trip but also deepens the bonds of friendship, making the forthcoming adventure even more exciting and meaningful.

Planning Your Girls Trip to Paris

Embarking on the ultimate girls’ getaway to Paris requires thoughtful planning to ensure every moment is as magical as the city itself.

Selecting the Perfect Accommodation for a Girls Trip to Paris

Choosing the right place to stay is crucial. Opt for accommodation that balances comfort with convenience.

Paris offers a range of options, from luxury hotels with breathtaking views to charming Airbnb apartments nestled in historic neighborhoods.

Consider staying in a central location like Le Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, or near the Louvre for easy access to the city’s most iconic attractions.

Crafting a Flexible Itinerary

While it’s tempting to pack your days with activities, remember that the best trips strike a balance between sightseeing and spontaneity.

Plan visits to must-see landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame but leave room for unplanned explorations. Whether it’s stumbling upon a street artist in Montmartre or enjoying a leisurely afternoon in a hidden garden, these unexpected moments often become the highlights of your girls trip to Paris.

Making the Most of Your Getaway

Dedicate a day to living like a Parisian. Start with a visit to a local market like Marché Bastille or Marché d’Aligre, pick up fresh ingredients, and have a picnic in one of Paris’s beautiful parks like Jardin du Luxembourg. Take a leisurely stroll along the Seine, savor a cup of coffee at a sidewalk café, and watch the world go by.

Book a photoshoot in Paris with a professional photographer

Creating Lasting Memories

Capture the essence of your trip not just in photos but in words and mementos. Keep a joint travel journal or work on a scrapbook that includes tickets, postcards, and little notes. This way, you’ll have a personalized and tangible memory of your Parisian adventure to look back on. Or, book a fun photoshoot with a friendly photographer.

Valuing Individual Interests

Remember, the beauty of a group trip lies in the diversity of interests. Be supportive if someone in your group wishes to explore a specific museum, shop, or district. Sometimes splitting up for part of the day can lead to richer shared stories over dinner.

Exploring the Parisian Nightlife

Paris at night transforms into a world of illuminated beauty and vibrant energy. Experience a boat cruise on the Seine, enjoy live music at a jazz club in the Latin Quarter, or simply marvel at the Eiffel Tower as it sparkles against the night sky. These experiences add a touch of magic and romance to your Parisian nights.

As you get ready for your honeymooning in Paris, it can be easy to get lost in the excitement and leave packing to fall by the wayside. It is the City of Love after all. Putting packing on the back burner can be even easier when it comes to the craziness of planning your wedding and honeymoon. If you’ve never been to Paris (or outside your own country) it’s important to be prepared and ready for anything the trip may bring your way. Here are our five travel essentials you may be forgetting to pack for your trip of a lifetime!

1. THE RIGHT TOILETRIES – HONEYMOONING IN PARIS

Travel kit for Paris honeymoon trip

Toiletries are often the first items to forget to pack when planning a big trip. But looking and feeling your best when you’re on your honeymoon can be the difference between an average trip and an unforgettable one. For men, remembering to bring the right travel shaving kit can be a game-changer. Make sure to pack a travel kit that will suit your needs and have you feeling sharp and well-groomed for your romantic getaway.

While hotel shampoo and soap will do the trick in a pinch, looking your best will be crucial on your honeymoon. For women, try out a versatile travel kit that will keep your skin glowing and your hair healthy. Bringing your favorite toiletries will not only help you look your best, but it will help you feel your best and be ready for the hustle-bustle of your trip. This will help you bring all attention to your partner and make the moments together even more memorable.

2. WEATHER APPROPRIATE CLOTHING – HONEYMOONING IN PARIS

Packing appropriate clothes for Parisian weather
Stylish girl posing in front of the Louvre Pyramid in Paris

While packing that fancy dress or dapper suit will make the trip even more romantic, it’s important to pack a few practical clothing items as well. Our number one advice would be to coordinate your outfits with the activities you have planned. With all that Paris has to offer between the Louvre, seeing the Eiffel tower, and exploring the city’s nightlife, it’s important to think ahead in terms of what outfits would work best for you. But this also means you’ll want to be comfortable in any weather that may come your way.

When honeymooning in Paris, make sure to check the weather beforehand and pack accordingly. If it’s supposed to rain the week you’re traveling, shorts may not be the best idea. Even if it doesn’t look like bad weather is in your forecast, having a packable raincoat and some comfortable shoes handy in your luggage is always a safe bet. If you are in dire need of new footwear, check out this guide for the best shoes to wear when traveling.

3. A TRAVEL ADAPTER

Travel adapter is essential for electronic devices in France

For the new traveler, this will be an absolute must. Many don’t realize, or even forget, outlets are different from country to country. In order to keep all your needed electronics charged and ready to go, you’ll want to get an adapter that will work for your phone and France’s outlets. Do your research and make sure the adapter you’re getting will work for you and your partner’s electronics. If you’re unsure which adapter you’ll need when honeymooning in Paris, make sure to read these tips for more information on which kind of adapter will be best for you.

4. THE RIGHT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Honeymooning in Paris - Paris at sunset

This may seem like an obvious essential, but with the craze of wedding planning, it may just go unnoticed. The last thing any person honeymooning in Paris wants is to get to the airport without their much-needed passport or boarding pass. Make sure you have everything you need, and extra documents just in case. This means double (and triple) checking all your booked tickets, passport, and identification are packed and ready to go. You may even want to bring some extra identification. If you really want to go the extra mile, grab some maps of Paris before heading out as well.

5. A QUALITY CAMERA

Essential things to bring to Paris - a quality camera

Last but not least, a quality camera will be essential. While a phone camera is adequate for day to day life, your honeymoon in Paris is something you’ll want high quality pictures of for the rest of your life. Getting a camera that will not only do your honeymoon justice, but will also be good for long-term use is crucial. If you don’t have your own camera, consider getting a professional photographer and having a photoshoot with your spouse! Not only is this a fun activity for your trip, but it’ll also help you commemorate the day and have great pictures to show friends and family.

Packing for your honeymoon doesn’t need to be stressful. Remember why you’re there; to spend quality time with your partner for the first time as newlyweds. Knowing you have some of the more important essentials packed and ready should take some of the stress off your shoulders and help you focus on your partner.

During our romantic Paris photo sessions, almost all the couples ask me about my favorite romantic spots in Paris, especially those not yet discovered by regular tourists and of course about romantic things to do in Paris.

Romantic Paris ideas Sunset Eiffel Tower

As a Paris engagement Photographer, I had the opportunity to explore some of the most romantic places of Paris and I’ll be sharing them with you through beautiful imagery.

One of the incontournable romantic spots of Paris is the Eiffel Tower. Let’s explore how you can have a fantastic romantic experience during sunset at the Eiffel Tower !

When to go ?
Summer nights are surely the best time to enjoy the Eiffel Tower sunset, the warm temperatures of July and August in Paris and the fact that you are surrounded by a lot of enthusiastic people makes it a unique experience. Make sure to find out the sunset hour for the season you are visiting Paris and get to there one hour before.

What to do ?
After a full day of walking the dusty streets of Paris, you finally have the time to relax, enjoy the moment and to kiss from time to time. Oh yeah, you’ll definitely feel the desire to kiss when the lights start to sparkle on the Eiffel Tower ! That’s every night, every hour on the hour for five minutes.

Where to go ?
The Eiffel Tower is huge and can be spotted from all over Paris. The most romantic places in Paris with a great view over the tower are:

  • Champs de Mars. Now this is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic with your chéri with a spectacular view and you can actually feel the Eiffel Tower next to you. Red wine is also recommended while sitting in the grass and waiting for the sunset. The fantastic colors of the sky in the background will surely blow you away !
  • Trocadéro. While this is my favorite spot for the sunrise at the Eiffel Tower, for the sunset it would be wise to avoid it, there are just too many people trying to get near the fence and it’s not very comfortable. Better, just walk down the steps near the water guns and wait for the sunset on a bench or on the grass.
  • Montparnasse tower. I always encourage my friends never to miss a sunset from the Montparnasse building. What’s great about it, is the fantastic view over Paris, especially in the evening and the cherry on top is that you have the Eiffel Tower in the landscape. How romantic is that ? You can of course enjoy the moment while having a tasteful cocktail in the bar at the last floor or simply cuddle and watch the sunset from the terrace.

Hope these tips about romantic things to do in Paris are useful for your upcoming romantic Paris experience. Think about
getting beautiful memories of your stay, even with your iPhone. To offer you a little motivation to get interested about the things covered in this article, I prepared a short time-lapse video of the sunset at Eiffel Tower.

What is YOUR favorite romantic spot in Paris for the Eiffel Tower sunset ? Let us know in a comment below.
